Theological Foundation for Leaders
Theological Foundation for Leaders (TFL) is an 11-week study in systematic theology using the Westminster Confession of Faith as the principal study resource.  This class is offered annually at The Vine (begins every January), and is our primary equipping class for future leaders.  During the course, participants work through weekly assignments outlined in a student manual and read a number of books including:
  • The Westminster Confession of Faith
  • The Covenant of Grace
  • The Five Points of Calvinism
  • PCA Book of Church Order
  • Summary of Christian Doctrine

During the classes, we cover the material using an interaction and discussion format rather than lecture. This is a dynamic, engaging teaching that we believe will give you an in-depth understanding of the Word and the doctrine of the Presbyterian Church in America.

Students should expect to spend 3-4 hours in preparation each week. As you can see by the books covered, this class will be challenging, but it will also enrich your lives and deepen your understanding of the biblical definition of leadership in the church.  If you have an interest in preparing for leadership or would like to better understand The Vine’s theological positions, we highly recommend this class.

In addition, all of the materials are available in digital format for e-reader devices. We do, however, strongly recommend that you purchase hard copies of The Five Points of Calvinism and Berkoff’s Summary of Christian Doctrine.
